Apps that Helps to Improve Productivity

Productivity at its BEST

The critical element to finishing a particular task as a freelancer is organization. Often, we lose track of what we're supposed to be doing, and we miss the deadline. Due to the fact that we are juggling our daily life activities as well as freelance work, it is pretty common to lose track of time. The idea of productivity is often discussed among individuals and in teams, as people share their routines and daily routines with one another.

In addition, they have attempted to stay on track, as being off track results in the loss of valuable time. Productivity killers it’s called. We tend to lose sight of what needs to be accomplished when other things occupy our time, whether social media, Netflix, or friends. Because of this, it is important to keep distractions at bay when you are performing some work. However, I have seen and heard that some individuals are either watching a video while working or listening to music while doing so. Although I am unsure how that works, everyone is different; I usually prefer to work in silence.

Among individuals, business personnel, and freelancers alike, a lack of productivity or a decline in productivity has been a key problem. Therefore, companies and some designers realized that the quality and quantity of work being produced had decreased and decided to resolve the issue. They created apps that facilitate our workflow. The range of apps available includes planning, designing, organizing, writing, and social media apps for communication. They are also helpful in connecting with others who have similar interests. This is a win-win situation because the apps were developed to assist people in improving, and they were able to capitalize on the improvement. Isn't that great? Developing a mobile application is not an easy task. I respect those designers who spend countless hours designing, coding, and debugging to develop the final product.

Throughout my freelance career, I have been tired or overwhelmed numerous times, losing track of the projects I need to complete. My life was getting hectic and unorganized, so it was time for a change or at least a strategy that would make life easier. I have found various apps to help me reduce my struggles with being unproductive on the Google Play Store and different social media platforms, and I have just begun to experiment with them. There are many types of productivity tools at our disposal, and they are all designed to enhance your workflow in different ways. In this article, I would like to share with you a few apps and techniques that I use daily to stay productive, and let me tell you; these have been invaluable in my freelance endeavors.

They are as follows:

  • An Alarm - I know this may seem unexpected, but an alarm does help you stay on track, especially with some of those annoying sounds that will immediately wake you up. Having a schedule enables you to manage your time, whether you wake up at a particular time or have different times throughout the day to accomplish your tasks. N.B pressing the snooze button doesn't help. Therefore, you need to assign yourself specific functions at one particular time each day to remain organized.

  • Grammarly- I use Grammarly as an online tool to improve my writing skills and those of other professionals. With Grammarly, I can proofread and edit any documents. I find Grammarly one of the best apps for proofreading and editing my documents as an aspiring writer. It helps with plagiarism by comparing documents against multiple web pages to see if they are the same. If they are, I will let you know. This is because no writer wants to be accused of plagiarizing.

  • Canva- There are many premade designs available on Canva that you can use to customize a particular format. Canva is my go-to tool when I need to create a beautiful design on the run, whether for myself or a client. It offers several features that help you to create a masterpiece. Besides the ease of use, it creates incredible designs. That's why I love it.

  • WordTune- In a nutshell, Word Tune is an AI that determines the meaning of what you say and suggests alternatives that make it more appealing. It is my go-to app when I need a specific word to use. With Word tune, you can make your text sound formal or casual according to your preferences.

  • Trello- is an application that facilitates the organization of projects into boards. My clients usually use this to assign tasks and give a date for completion. An excellent tool for businesses or companies that have more than three employees. Keeping all the projects organized and completing them within a specified timeframe is the key to Trello.

  • Writing Plus is a handy writing app that allows you to take notes quickly. As a general-purpose app, I use it to store information, make notes, and keep track of things. There is a wide range of word apps out there, and I just saw this one and have stuck to it ever since. I'm sure everyone has their preferential notepad that they use.

  • Buffer – for all my freelancers who are having trouble scheduling social media posts, this is one of the apps you can use. There is a slight limitation to the number of social media accounts you can post to with the free version. Having to pay more for more is a phrase that causes a lot of discomforts, but it's necessary. From analytics to scheduling, this application has assisted me in posting content instead of posting them individually. However, I sometimes forget to schedule a post.

  • Microsoft Office- This software package includes a variety of applications that have been designed to perform specific tasks. I use Microsoft Word for writing and editing documents, Microsoft Excel for designing graphs and organizing data, and Microsoft Powerpoint for creating presentations for clients.

  • ZOOM - I use Zoom primarily to conduct meetings and interviews with clients and employers. Since the pandemic hit, zoom has proven quite helpful, and everything is easily accessible. It is straightforward to use and can be used by up to 50 people at one time. I use it on both a professional and personal basis.

You can try any of these or similar applications that I've been using to increase productivity and time management. It is imperative to be productive and produce quality content in whatever you do, and some of these apps may be able to help you reach your goal.
